N O R O P L A C E concept branding/design - sourcing/build out
DEVELOPED NAME - NORO PLACE - assignment to develop a name for an existing 42 unit building in the Roosevelt Row Arts District. Chose NORO Place because the building sits north of Roosevelt Row NO-RO and to highlight the buildings middle pool/courtyard shape creating an interactive community reminiscent of the Melrose Place TV show.
CREATED LOGO - NORO in simplistic midcentury style font with "place" hand written to create an era appropriate with organic artistic touch.
BRANDING - Using mint green from the era of this building and old gold from today to accent the bright white created a light resort feeling that played well with the architecture, the center pool and palm landscaping. Miami meets Mexico.
DESIGN/BUILD OUT - Each suite was taken back to its mid century roots by exposing the block walls, concrete flooring and removing the ceiling fans. White stark interiors with wooden open shelving and stainless accents for an update. Select pieces keeping in time with the origin story like the tulip dining set, Eames bucket chair, Danish style paddle arm sofa and arch floor lamp. Fun young pop prints from Swedish Stamp Club, Living room Lip pot and everyone's favorite cactus buddy on the bed. The communal pool area was updated with the Acapulco chairs and brutal concrete drink tables for a chill oasis vibe.
