H A I N O O N concept branding/design - sourcing/build out
DEVELOPED NAME - HAI NOON - hybrid of western + Japanese - old west expression meaning exactly noon, "hai" meaning "exactly" in conversational Japanese merging east + west
CREATED LOGO - Bonsai tree with the limbs of the saguaro. Acts as a reflection of Nobuo's delicate and intentional curation that has been fine tuned over time presented in a desert setting.
BRANDING - Bonsai/ Saguaro Logo, Saloon style curved font, colors reflective of the desert - terracotta, turquoise, natural rock and Japanese - simplistic black and white with pink cherry tree blossom tone.
DESIGNED/ BUILT OUT SPACE - Sourced a grandmother clock with hiragana numbers to ring in hai noon. Painted ceiling + beams terracotta to represent the Japanese rising sun, Placed Noguchi style paper lanterns to overlap the quintessential mid century rock wall. Commissioned custom raw wooden simplistic modular bench/tables throughout. Built a skate ramp with salvaged wooden vintage linen post card prints from original hotel into a division wall. Sourced pottery for revolving organic arrangements. Created signage with marquee lettering. Sourced a western hand made thrift store Maneki Neko for luck.
